HISTORY RESEARCH

History researcher available for commissioned work on large and small, institutional and personal projects. Available for academic project support, history website content writing, exhibitions support, articles and publications research, local history projects, film and TV research, heritage institution work, book and manuscript provenance histories, background research for events and tours and other projects based on viability.

Although projects are accepted across a wide range of subject-matter, History R.A.T. has a particular interest in modern British history, with employment experience in researching through 1600 to today, and a specialism in the late-Victorian era and early twentieth century. Subject specialisms include diverse and underrepresented histories, including Black British history, LGBTQ+ histories and the history of sex and sexuality. Other subject-specialisms include literary and theatre censorship, protest history, medical history and history of art.

    History RAT will follow up and arrange a free online 30 minute consultation where we will discuss the project aims, what work and how many days may be required, budgets and suitability of the commission for both us and yourself.

    This will be followed up with a quote and a time frame for your consideration.

  • Fees are £300 a day based on an 8 hour day, or £150 for half a day. Travel will be chargeable if applicable.

    First 3 commissions will be priced at a discount rate of £200 a day.
